Cantemus Announces Choral Intern Program
(April 10, 2013) — Cantemus Chamber Chorus is introducing an intern program open to area high school students who are interested in a high level immersion program of singing with a small chorus of musically trained adults. We will accept one person per part (SATB) by audition with the conductor. If more than one qualified singer per part auditions, we will consider admitting them as well. The decision is to be made by the musical director. The appointment will last one year with the possibility of renewal.
This program is intended to be a supplemental vocal experience to the students’ high school music program and may help in building their resumes as they prepare for college. Applicants must have good sight reading abilities and be available Tuesday evenings from 7:30-10 for rehearsals at the Miles River Middle School in Hamilton and for weekend concerts the first weekend of December and the last weekend of April.
It is our hope that this program will help to cultivate a new generation of skilled choral singers.
